• They first met on the set of Ambigai Neril Vanthaal (1984) when Janagaraj was brought in as a last-minute replacement for a comedian who walked out. Senthil, already cast, helped Janagaraj rewrite his lines in Tamil slang so they'd land better with the audience.
• Senthil was the straight man who set up the joke with a deadpan face; Janagaraj delivered the punchline with wild physical comedy. In Thiruppu Munai (1989), Senthil would deliberately pause mid-dialogue to let Janagaraj's exaggerated reactions steal the scene.
• Their double-act in Ullathil Nalla Ullam (1988) was so popular that director S. A. Chandrasekhar wrote a separate comedy track just for them in his next film Nethiyadi (1988), turning their pairing into a mini-brand that producers started demanding.
• On every film set, they shared the same makeup van and would rehearse their scenes together at 5 AM, even if the shoot was at noon. Janagaraj once said they did this because 'if one of us flubs, the other looks bad too.'
• Janagaraj told a Tamil magazine in 2001: 'Senthil is the only actor who can make me laugh even when the director is yelling at us. He'd whisper a joke in my ear right before 'action,' and I'd have to bite my cheek to keep from breaking character.'
• Their last film together, I Love You Da (2002), was a disaster at the box office, but it directly inspired director Cheran to cast them both in a cameo for his 2003 hit Autograph — a rare reunion that fans still talk about.
