Vietnam Colony is a 1994 Indian Tamil-language comedy drama film directed by Santhana Bharathi. It stars Prabhu, Goundamani, and Vineetha in lead roles. The story follows a company supervisor who goes undercover as a writer to convince residents of an illegal colony to relocate. The colony, called Vietnam Colony, is home to daily labourers and controlled by local criminals. The film is a remake of the 1992 Malayalam film of the same name, which was based on the 1983 British film Local Hero. Crazy Mohan wrote the dialogues, and Ilaiyaraaja composed the music. The film received positive reviews for its humour and emotional depth. It was released on 15 July 1994.

Storyline

Venkatakrishnan gets a job to clear an illegal colony called Vietnam Colony. He goes undercover as a writer to trick the residents into leaving. But he falls in love with a local girl and starts to care about the community. Now he must choose between his job and the people he has come to love.

A colony that refuses to surrender.
