• Prabhu was just 3 films old when C. V. Rajendran cast him in Sangili (1982). The director saw something raw in the newcomer and bet his entire film on it — that movie became Prabhu's first solo hit.
• Rajendran deliberately slowed down Prabhu's natural energy in Sandhippu (1983). He told the actor to hold his pauses longer and let the silence do the work. That film got a 7.5 rating — their highest-rated collaboration.
• Their 1984 film Ungal Veetu Pillai directly inspired a wave of 'family entertainer with a twist' movies in the mid-80s. Producers started asking for 'that Prabhu-Rajendran formula' — a mix of sentiment and comedy that nobody else cracked.
