Dasarathan(1993)
Dasarathan is a 1993 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by Raja Krishnamoorthy, credited as Kitty, in his directorial debut. The film stars Sarathkumar as the titular policeman and Heera Rajagopal as his love interest, with Sivakumar, Saranya Ponvannan, and Gandhimathi in supporting roles. The story follows Dasarathan, an honest police officer who clashes with his peace-loving father while battling a corrupt politician who orchestrates a deadly riot. Produced by Mani Ratnam under Aalayam Productions, the film was originally planned in Malayalam with Mohanlal but was made in Tamil on cinematographer Santosh Sivan's insistence. The soundtrack was composed by L. Vaidyanathan. The film received mixed reviews, with Kalki magazine noting the director's confusion between making his kind of film or a Sarathkumar kind of film. It was released on 5 February 1993.

Storyline
Dasarathan is a fearless police officer who dreams of becoming a commissioner. His father hates violence and wants him to stop fighting. When a riot forces Dasarathan to kill an innocent man, his father leaves home to help the victim's widow. Now Dasarathan must defeat a powerful politician while winning back his father's trust.
