Trivia
- The film's director C. V. Balakrishnan was a well-known cinematographer, and this was his only directorial venture.
- The movie's plot of a wedding being disrupted by a challenge is similar to a subplot in the 1991 Hindi film 'Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin'.
- Actor Murali, who played the lead, was primarily known for serious roles, making this playful character a slight shift.
- The film was not a major commercial success, arriving during a crowded period for romantic dramas in Tamil cinema.
- A key song, 'Kadhal Vandhachu', was composed by Ilaiyaraaja but is not widely remembered among his hits from that era.
- The title 'Pass Mark' metaphorically refers to the protagonist's efforts to pass a moral test, not an academic one.
- The movie's release coincided with the rising popularity of thriller elements in Tamil romantic films of the early 1990s.
