
Gentleman(1993)
Gentleman is a 1993 Indian Tamil-language heist action film written and directed by S. Shankar in his directorial debut. The film stars Arjun Sarja, Madhubala, and Subhashri in lead roles, with M. N. Nambiar, Manorama, Goundamani, Senthil, Charan Raj, and Vineeth in supporting roles. The story follows Krishnamoorthy, a respected Madras businessman who moonlights as a thief to steal from the rich and build a free college for underprivileged students. The film explores themes of educational inequality, corruption, and vigilante justice. It was a major commercial success, running for over 175 days in theatres, and won three Filmfare Awards South and four Tamil Nadu State Film Awards. The soundtrack by A. R. Rahman became a chartbuster. The film was released on 30 July 1993.
