- Actor Ramki, who played the lead, was primarily known for romantic roles, making this action-heavy film a slight shift for him at the time.
- The movie's plot of a stranger confronting local oppression was a common theme in early 90s Tamil cinema, reflecting societal tensions.
- A key action sequence was filmed at the Vellore Fort, a popular location for period and rural-based films in that era.
- The soundtrack by composer Ilaiyaraaja included folk-inspired melodies to match the village setting of the story.
- Despite its action genre, the film did not perform strongly at the box office compared to other releases that year.
