Thai Poosam(1991)
Thai Poosam is a 1991 Tamil-language devotional family drama directed by Rama Narayanan. The film stars Nassar, Bhanupriya, and Shamili in lead roles. The story follows a mother who makes a sacred vow to the goddess to save her dying daughter, but faces fierce opposition from her wealthy, arrogant husband. Set in a traditional Tamil village, the narrative explores the clash between blind faith and material greed. The film is notable for its strong emotional core and its depiction of the Thai Poosam festival rituals. It was produced by Sri Thenaandal Films with music composed by Shankar–Ganesh. Storyline
A mother's daughter is dying from a mysterious illness. Doctors have given up hope. She turns to her faith and promises to perform the painful Thai Poosam ritual. But her cruel husband mocks her beliefs and throws her out of the house. She must fight alone to save her child's life.
