• Nassar and Bhanupriya first faced the camera together in 'Thai Poosam' (1991) because director R. Sundarrajan specifically wanted a pair that looked like they could be a real-life couple — he cast them after seeing their individual screen tests and deciding they had a natural, unforced rhythm.
• In 'Gopura Vasalile' (1991), Bhanupriya deliberately slowed down her dialogue delivery to match Nassar's measured, earthy style — she later told a magazine that she realized he wasn't a 'fast talker' and that their scenes worked only when she let him set the pace.
• During the shoot of 'Annai' (2000), Nassar and Bhanupriya developed a ritual: before every emotional scene, they would sit silently for two minutes, holding hands, to sync their breathing. Bhanupriya said it helped them cry on cue without forcing it.
