Samar is a 2013 Tamil-language mystery action thriller film written and directed by Thiru. The film stars Vishal in a dual role, alongside Trisha and Sunaina. The story follows Sakthi, a forest trekking guide from Ooty, who travels to Bangkok to reunite with his girlfriend. He is mistaken for a billionaire tycoon and becomes the target of a deadly game orchestrated by two wealthy psychopaths. The film features a background score by Dharan Kumar and cinematography by Richard M. Nathan. It was released on 13 January 2013 during the Pongal festival.
