The story follows Dilipan's fight against Balayya, a corrupt politician who terrorizes a village with impunity. The film is a remake of the 1986 Malayalam film 'Nandi Veendum Varika' and was written by M. Karunanidhi. It features a soundtrack composed by Ilaiyaraaja, with lyrics by Karunanidhi and Ilaya Bharathi.
