'Mounam Sammadham' (transl. Silence is acquiescence) is a 1990 Indian Tamil-language legal thriller film directed by K. Madhu and written by S. N. Swamy. The film stars Mammootty in his Tamil film debut alongside Amala Akkineni. The story follows lawyer Raja as he defends Sundaram, a businessman wrongfully convicted of murdering his brother's wife. Raja investigates the case and uncovers a conspiracy involving a family friend. The film was a commercial and critical success upon its release on 15 June 1990. It is noted for its courtroom drama, Ilaiyaraaja's soundtrack, and Mammootty's performance.
