Trivia

  • The film is a remake of the 2005 Tamil blockbuster 'Chandramukhi', which itself was inspired by the 1993 Malayalam film 'Manichitrathazhu'.
  • Director P. Vasu also directed the original Tamil version, making him the director of both the source material and this Telugu adaptation.
  • Actor Venkatesh, who plays the lead, was reportedly hesitant to take on a horror-comedy role but was persuaded by the script's unique blend of genres.
  • The film's climax was shot in a specially constructed palace set that cost over ₹1 crore to build, a significant expense for a regional production at the time.
  • Despite mixed reviews, it was a commercial success, running for over 100 days in several theaters across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
  • The character Nagavalli is named after a legendary dancer from Indian folklore, often associated with tales of possession and supernatural events.
  • Composer Vidyasagar reused his own background score from the Tamil original but composed new songs specifically for the Telugu version.
