Trivia
- The film is a remake of the 1999 Kannada movie 'Hrudaya Hrudaya', which was also directed by Muthyala Subbaiah.
- This was the first time actor Ravi Teja played the brother of Chiranjeevi's character, a dynamic repeated in later films.
- A comedy scene involving Brahmanandam as a drunk man was improvised on set and became a major highlight.
- The song 'Choodakooda Nadumula' was filmed at the famous Ramoji Film City, using one of its large outdoor sets.
- Actress Soundarya's costumes in the film were specially designed to reflect her character's status as a businesswoman.
- The film's title 'Annayya' means 'elder brother' and centers on Chiranjeevi's protective role, a common theme in his movies.
- Despite being a family drama, the movie included several risky stunts performed by Chiranjeevi without a body double.
