Gunday is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language period action drama film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Irrfan Khan in lead roles. Set in 1971–1988 Calcutta, the story follows two orphaned refugees who become powerful coal mafia outlaws. Their unbreakable friendship is tested when both fall in love with a cabaret dancer, while a police officer schemes to destroy them. The film blends bromance, action, and period nostalgia inspired by 1970s Bollywood classics. It received mixed reviews but was a box office success, ranking as the 10th highest-grossing Hindi film of 2014. The film won the Filmfare Award for Best Action and was nominated for Best Choreography. It was released theatrically on 14 February 2014.

Storyline
Two orphaned boys, Bikram and Bala, flee to Calcutta after the 1971 war. They become coal thieves and rise to power as feared outlaws. Their friendship is tested when both fall for a cabaret dancer named Nandita. A police officer uses her to trap them, forcing the friends to choose between love and loyalty.
