'Ek Villain' is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language romantic psychological action thriller film directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Motion Pictures. The film stars Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh in lead roles. The story follows Guru, a reformed hitman who seeks revenge after his wife is murdered by a serial killer, while also reminiscing his romantic journey with her. The film is loosely inspired by the 2010 South Korean film 'I Saw the Devil'. It received positive reviews for its direction, screenwriting, and action sequences, with Riteish Deshmukh earning particular praise for his first negative role. Made on a budget of ₹39 crore, the film grossed over ₹170 crore worldwide, becoming a major commercial success. The soundtrack, featuring hits like 'Galliyan', 'Zaroorat', and 'Hamdard', became hugely popular. The film was released worldwide on 27 June 2014.

Storyline
Guru is a former hitman who has left his violent past behind for a peaceful life with his wife, Aisha. But when a serial killer murders Aisha, Guru's old instincts return. He hunts down the killer, not to kill him, but to make him suffer. As he tortures the man, he relives his love story with Aisha. But the killer has his own dark secrets, and the line between hero and villain begins to blur.
