
Lootera(2013)
Lootera is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language period romantic drama film directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. It stars Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles. The film is set in 1953 against the backdrop of the Zamindari Abolition Act in newly independent India. It tells the story of a conman posing as an archaeologist who falls in love with the daughter of a Bengali zamindar. The second half of the film is based on O. Henry's 1907 short story 'The Last Leaf'. The music was composed by Amit Trivedi with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The film received positive reviews for its performances, cinematography, and emotional depth. It was nominated for four Filmfare Awards including Best Actress for Sonakshi Sinha. Monali Thakur won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer for 'Sawaar Loon'. The film released on 5 July 2013.

Storyline
A conman named Varun pretends to be an archaeologist to steal from a wealthy landlord's family. He falls in love with the landlord's daughter Pakhi. After betraying her on their wedding day, he returns a year later to find her dying of tuberculosis. He must choose between escaping the police or staying to save her life.
