Trivia
- The film's title 'Joker' refers to a playing card, not the comic book character, symbolizing the village's wild card status.
- Director Shirish Kunder also edited the film and composed its background score, handling multiple key roles.
- Akshay Kumar agreed to do a cameo as a favor to the director, who had previously edited his hit film 'Rowdy Rathore'.
- The movie was shot in just 40 days, a relatively short schedule for a Bollywood production of its scale.
- It features a cameo by veteran actor Shreyas Talpade as a news reporter, adding to its ensemble cast.
- The film's plot was inspired by real-life border disputes and 'no man's land' areas between India and Pakistan.
- Despite its sci-fi elements, many scenes were filmed on location in rural Maharashtra to depict the fictional village.
