Biography
Rasu Madhuravan (born 1969, died 9 July 2013) was a Tamil cinema director born in Mettupatti village near Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu, who began his career as an assistant director under Manivannan before making his debut with Poomagal Oorvalam (1999), starring Prashanth and Rambha, produced by R. B. Choudary. His most notable work includes Mayandi Kudumbathar (2009), a family comedy that garnered positive reviews and performed well commercially, and Pandi (2008) starring Raghava Lawrence and Sneha, which marked his return after a nine-year hiatus. He was known for directing rural family dramas, and Mayandi Kudumbathar became particularly distinctive for featuring ten film directors in its cast. He died of throat cancer in July 2013, leaving behind a modest but well-regarded filmography that includes Goripalayam (2010) and Muthukku Muthaaga (2011).
