Sadagoppan Ramesh is a former Indian international cricketer turned Tamil film actor, best known for making his acting debut in the sports comedy Potta Potti (2011), directed by Yuvaraj Dhayalan. He represented India in 19 Test matches between 1999 and 2001, scoring 1,467 runs at an average of 37.97 with two centuries, and notably became the first Indian cricketer to take a wicket off his first ball in ODI cricket. In Potta Potti, he played a fictionalized version of himself — a lost former cricketer who coaches two bumbling village cousins in cricket. He also appeared in the Tamil film Madha Gaja Raja (2025), continuing a low-volume acting career alongside his post-cricket public profile.
