Biography
M. Senthamizhan is a Tamil film director who made his debut with Paalai (2011), a period drama set in 300 BC based on Sangam literature. The film depicts a war between two ancient Tamil groups, Ayakudi and Vandheri, and was shot in the forests of Thanjavur, Mysore, and Sathyamangalam. Before directing Paalai, Senthamizhan served as an assistant to director Ram on the critically noted Tamil film Katradhu Thamizh (2006). Paalai was released with limited publicity in November 2011 and remains his primary directorial work in Tamil cinema.
