Trivia

  • This was the only Tamil film directed by Saba Kailash, who was primarily a cinematographer for Malayalam cinema.
  • The film's music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja, but it was not a major commercial success like his other works that year.
  • Actor Vijayakumar, who played the villain Gangadharan, was known for often portraying negative roles in 1990s Tamil cinema.
  • The jailbreak and revenge plot drew comparisons to popular Hollywood and Bollywood prison dramas of the era.
  • A key action sequence was filmed at the then-newly built Chennai Trade Centre complex, a rare location at the time.
  • The film's release coincided with a wave of similar 'framed for revenge' stories, making it less standout at the box office.
