• Puri Jagannadh cast Kota Srinivasa Rao as the villain in Baachi (2000) after being impressed by his work in K. Viswanath's films. But Kota almost walked off set on day one — he hated the loud, massy dialogue Puri wrote for him. Puri convinced him to stay by rewriting the lines on the spot.
• In Temper (2015), Puri gave Kota a single-take monologue that runs nearly 4 minutes. Kota delivered it in one go, no retakes. Puri later said that scene became the emotional backbone of the film because Kota's timing forced NTR to react, not act.
