Dharmavarapu Subramanyam (20 September 1960 – 7 December 2013) was a Telugu cinema actor, comedian, and film director, best known as one of the highest-paid and most prominent comedians in the Telugu film industry, with a career spanning over 800 films. He won two Nandi Awards for Best Male Comedian for his performances in Yagnam (2004) and Aalasyam Amrutam (2010), and appeared in hits such as Dookudu (2011), Julai (2012), Shirdi Sai (2012), and Mr. Pellikoduku (2013). Known for his distinctive dialogue modulation and comic timing, he collaborated with major Telugu stars including Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, Jr. NTR, and Ravi Teja, and first gained wide recognition through the Telugu comedy serial Anando Brahma, which he also directed.
