• Rajkumar Kohli cast Amjad Khan as the villain in Bees Saal Baad (1988) because he needed a face that could sell a horror-mystery without dialogue — Khan's eyes alone did the job. Kohli later said he wrote the role of the menacing 'Professor' specifically for Khan's silent menace.
• On the set of Inteqam (1988), Kohli realized Amjad Khan could switch from booming rage to a whisper in one cut. So he started shooting Khan's scenes in single long takes — letting Khan control the rhythm, while Kohli just kept the camera rolling. No retakes, no direction.
• Kohli and Khan had a standing ritual before every film: they'd share a plate of biryani at Kohli's house and argue about which classic Hindi horror film to reference. For Virodhi (1992), Khan insisted on a nod to Mahal (1949); Kohli wanted a Guns of Navarone-style climax. They did both.
• Their third film together, Virodhi (1992), was the last time Amjad Khan played a full-fledged villain before his health declined. After that, Kohli shifted to producing family dramas — he said he couldn't imagine making a thriller without Khan's laugh.
