• Kohli and Chibber first teamed up for Naukar Biwi Ka (1983) because Kohli needed a reliable action director who could handle a comedy-horror script. Chibber, known for stunt-heavy films, agreed on one condition: he got to cast his own villain. That villain was Shakti Kapoor, who became the film's breakout star.
• On Insaniyat Ke Dushman (1987), Kohli wrote the story but let Chibber rewrite all the fight sequences. Chibber would storyboard each punch on napkins during lunch breaks. Kohli later admitted he never understood Chibber's napkin drawings but trusted them blindly — and the film's climax fight took three days to shoot because Chibber kept adding new moves on set.
• Bees Saal Baad (1988) was the only film where Kohli and Chibber shared a writing credit. The script was a direct rip-off of a Bengali thriller, but their version introduced a twist ending that later inspired a 1992 TV series episode on Doordarshan's 'Kirdaar' — the episode's writer was a young Anurag Kashyap, who has cited this film as his first exposure to a 'double-reveal' climax.
• After Bees Saal Baad flopped, Kohli and Chibber had a public fallout over unpaid dues. Chibber claimed Kohli owed him ₹50,000 for the action choreography. They didn't speak for seven years. In 1995, they reconciled at a mutual friend's wedding — Chibber walked up to Kohli and said, 'Tera paisa abhi bhi baaki hai.' They never worked together again.
• Om Prakash Chibber once told a trade magazine in 1989: 'Rajkumar Kohli is the only producer who let me shoot a car chase inside a real factory. I blew up three cars. He didn't even flinch. But he never paid me for the fourth car.'
