• K. Vishwanath cast Sarath Babu in 'Salangai Oli' (1983) after being impressed by his work in Tamil cinema. Vishwanath specifically wanted a dancer-actor for the lead, and Sarath Babu's classical dance training sealed the deal.
• On the set of 'Salangai Oli', Vishwanath would choreograph the emotional beats of a scene through dance movements first, then have Sarath Babu translate those into dialogue delivery. Sarath later said this made him a more physical actor.
