• Jagdeep and Om Shivpuri first shared screen space in Phir Wohi Raat (1980), a horror thriller. The director, Danny Denzongpa, specifically paired them because he wanted two actors who could switch between comedy and menace without missing a beat.
• In Mangalsutra (1981), Jagdeep played the comic relief while Om Shivpuri played the stern patriarch. Their scenes worked because Jagdeep would deliberately over-deliver his lines, forcing Shivpuri to react with genuine irritation — that tension became the scene's energy.
• On the sets of Hum Dono (1985), Jagdeep and Om Shivpuri shared a room in a small hotel in Ooty. Jagdeep later recalled that Shivpuri would wake him up at 5 AM every day to practice their lines together — even though neither of them had more than a few scenes.
