• Samuthirakani was the one who convinced director Velraj to cast Vivek in 'Velaiyilla Pattathari' (2014). Velraj initially wanted a different actor for the role of Raghuvaran's friend. Samuthirakani pushed hard, saying Vivek's raw energy would make the character unforgettable.
• On the sets of 'Velaiyilla Pattathari', Vivek would constantly improvise his lines, and Samuthirakani would match his rhythm by adjusting his reactions in real time. The scene where they argue about job hunting in the tea shop was entirely improvised — they built it line by line without a script.
