• Nayantara was the one who pushed for Anandaraj to be cast in Villu (2009). She had seen his work in smaller roles and told the director she wanted him as her on-screen father. He got the part because she insisted.
• In Naanum Rowdydhaan (2015), Anandaraj played a ruthless don. Nayantara’s character was his daughter. The director said Anandaraj deliberately stayed cold and distant between takes to keep the tension real — and Nayantara matched that energy by never breaking character around him on set.
• After Villu, Anandaraj started calling Nayantara 'daughter' off-screen too. She returned the gesture by calling him 'appa' on set. They kept that up through all three films.
• Their father-daughter pairing in Bigil (2019) was so well-received that the director Atlee wrote a whole flashback sequence just for them — it wasn’t in the original script. That sequence became one of the most emotional parts of the film.
• Anandaraj once said in an interview: 'Nayantara is the only co-star who made me feel like I was actually her father. She would check on me between shots, bring me coffee. I never had to act with her — I just had to react.'
