• Livingston was already a known face when he cast Vijayakumar as the villain in Oru Oorla Oru Rajakumari (1995). But here's the twist: Vijayakumar was actually Livingston's senior in college. Livingston later said he felt nervous directing a senior, but Vijayakumar made it easy by treating him like a friend on set.
• In Chinna (2005), Livingston played the hero's friend while Vijayakumar played the villain. Their scenes together had a specific rhythm: Livingston would set up the joke with a nervous stammer, and Vijayakumar would deliver the punchline with deadpan menace. That back-and-forth became the film's most rewatchable moments.
