• For Naan Avanillai (1974), director C. V. Sridhar was initially hesitant to cast Ganthimathi opposite Senthamarai. Senthamarai personally vouched for her, saying she had the right 'sadistic edge' for the role. That film became a cult hit.
• In Azhagiya Kanne (1982), Senthamarai played a possessive mother while Ganthimathi played the scheming antagonist. Their scenes together had no overlap — they never shared a single frame. The tension was built entirely through cross-cutting and reaction shots.
• After Vai Pandhal (1984) bombed hard, both actors quietly agreed to never work together again. Neither blamed the other — they just felt the magic was gone. They stayed cordial but never reunited on screen.
• Ganthimathi once told a magazine: 'Senthamarai was the only co-star who could make me nervous. She would stare at me between takes and I'd forget my lines.' She said this in a 1985 interview with Kumudam.
