• Suhasini was still a teenager when she signed Agaya Gangai (1982) opposite Karthik. She later admitted she was nervous acting opposite someone so much older and more experienced — but Karthik deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery in their first scene together to match her rhythm.
• In Apoorva Sahodarigal (1983), Karthik played a double role — and Suhasini had to react to two versions of him in the same frame. She told a magazine later that Karthik would stand in for his own double during her close-ups, switching positions between takes so she had a real person to act against, not a chalk mark.
• After Dhoorathu Patchai (1987), Suhasini moved into directing and producing. Karthik was the first actor she called when she needed a male lead for her own production — but the project never materialized. She later said they just couldn't find a script good enough for both of them.
• Chinna Kannamma (1993) was a rare pairing of two established stars in a low-budget family drama. Its failure at the box office directly led to both actors taking a long break from working together — they didn't reunite on screen for 11 years until Dost (2004).
• "Karthik was the only co-star who never once tried to give me acting advice on set. He just did his job and trusted me to do mine. That silence was the biggest compliment." — Suhasini, in a 2005 interview with Ananda Vikatan.
• Despite making five films together over 22 years, Suhasini and Karthik never became close friends off-screen. She once described their relationship as "professional warmth" — they'd catch up only if they ran into each other at film events, never called otherwise.
