• Simran was already a huge star in Tamil when she signed Kannupada Poguthaiya (1999) — her first Telugu film. Anandaraj, then a feared villain, was cast as her romantic lead. The pairing shocked everyone because he was known for negative roles, not hero parts.
• In Seema Simham (2002), Anandaraj played a violent cop and Simran played his love interest. The director said Anandaraj's intense screen presence made Simran soften her performance — she deliberately played her scenes with more vulnerability to balance his aggression. That push-pull became the film's emotional core.
• Raghavendra (2003) was the only hit of their three films together — and it directly led to Simran getting offered more Telugu heroine roles. Before that, producers saw her as a Tamil import. After Raghavendra's success, she became a regular in Telugu commercial cinema for the next five years.
• On the sets of Kannupada Poguthaiya, Anandaraj reportedly helped Simran with her Telugu dialogues every day. She spoke no Telugu when she started; he would write her lines in Tamil script and rehearse with her between shots. They stayed friendly long after the films ended.
• Simran once said in an interview: 'Anandaraj was the first person in Telugu cinema who made me feel comfortable. He never treated me like an outsider. He'd say, 'Just say the lines like I do — don't worry about the accent.' That trust made our scenes work.'
