• Pattu was a newcomer when A.V.M.Rajan cast her as the lead in Paalkudam (1969). He personally convinced the producer to take a chance on her, even though she had no box-office track record.
• In Pugundha Veedu (1972), Rajan deliberately slowed down his usual fast-paced dialogue delivery to match Pattu's natural, hesitant style. That rhythm became the film's emotional anchor.
• On the sets of Thaikku Oru Pillai (1972), Rajan would rehearse scenes with Pattu in the makeup room before every shot. He said it helped her relax because she was shy around the crew.
