• Goundamani was already a comedy star by 1985, but Revathi was a newcomer. Director K. S. Gopalakrishnan paired them in 'Agaya Thamaraigal' because he wanted a fresh, serious heroine to balance Goundamani's loud energy — and Revathi's quiet intensity made the comedy hit harder.
• In 'Kanni Rasi' (1985), Goundamani's rapid-fire one-liners forced Revathi to react in real time — she didn't have a scripted pause. Her stunned silences became the punchline. That film's comedy scenes are still studied by Tamil actors for how silence can amplify a joke.
