Maragadha Veenai (1986) is a Tamil-language musical romance film directed by Gokula Krishnan. The film stars Suresh and Revathi in lead roles. The story follows Kokila, an abandoned child adopted by a Carnatic musician, who becomes a music teacher and falls in love with drill master Kannan. Their relationship is disrupted when Kokila is forced into an arranged marriage with Dr. Chandrasekar to repay a debt of gratitude. The film is notable for its emotional narrative exploring duty versus love. Ilaiyaraaja composed the soundtrack, featuring the popular song 'Maragatha Veenai' picturised at Monkey Falls.
