• Uday Kiran was a fresh face when he signed Nuvvu Nenu (2001). M. S. Narayana was already a busy comedian. The director paired them specifically to give Uday's romantic hero a comic foil — and it clicked so hard that Narayana ended up in Uday's next film too.
• In Sreeram (2002), Narayana played a sidekick who never let Uday's hero take himself too seriously. Uday would set up a dramatic line, and Narayana would undercut it with a deadpan one-liner. That push-pull — earnest hero vs. cynical friend — became the template for their scenes together.
