• Nadhiya was already a known face when she agreed to star opposite newcomer K. Rangaraj in 'Uyire Unakkaga' (1986). The director picked Rangaraj specifically because he wanted a fresh, non-macho hero to balance Nadhiya's intense screen presence.
• In 'Unakkaagave Vaazhgiren' (1986), Rangaraj deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery to match Nadhiya's natural rhythm. She later said that his patience on set made her feel safe enough to cry on cue without glycerin.
