• The success of Bale Pandiya (1962) directly led to Devika being cast in the iconic film Paarthal Pasi Theerum (1962) opposite Sivaji Ganesan. Balaji's performance in that same film got him noticed by director A. P. Nagarajan, who then cast him in major roles. One film changed both their trajectories.
• For their first film together, Bale Pandiya (1962), Devika was already a rising star. K. Balaji was a newcomer. She personally recommended him to the director after seeing him in a stage play. That one recommendation launched his film career.
• On the sets of Engirundho Vandhaal (1970), Devika would often rewrite her own lines in Tamil to make them more natural. Balaji, who was more comfortable with formal dialogue, would then adjust his delivery to match her rhythm. They created a conversational style that felt fresh for Tamil cinema at the time.
