• Saritha and Mohan never dated. But they had a ritual: before every shot together, they'd silently count to three and nod at each other. It was their way of syncing energy without the director's cue.
• Mohan was already a star when Sujatha (1980) was cast. Saritha was a newcomer. Director S. A. Chandrasekhar took a risk pairing them. Mohan personally vouched for her after seeing her screen test.
• In Nalam Nalamariya Aval (1984), Mohan played a blind man. Saritha had to guide him through every scene without breaking character. She set the physical pace — he followed her cues. That film made their pairing famous for trust-based acting.
• Anni (1985) was their last film together. It directly inspired the 1990s trend of 'strong female lead vs. vulnerable male lead' in Tamil cinema. Years later, director Balu Mahendra said he cast Saritha in his films because of how she handled Mohan's blind role.
• Saritha once said in an interview: 'Mohan never acted like a star with me. He would whisper the next line if I forgot it. That's why I trusted him on screen.'
• Sujatha (1980) almost didn't happen. The producer wanted a bigger name opposite Mohan. Saritha was rejected twice. Mohan called the producer and said, 'If she's not in it, I'm out.' That got her the role.
