• Vadivelu was not the first choice for En Mana Vaanil (2002). The director originally wanted a different comedian. Sabitha Anand personally insisted on Vadivelu after seeing his timing in a stage show. She told the team: 'He will make this film work.'
• In Chatrapathy (2004), Vadivelu improvised an entire 4-minute sequence where he reacts to Sabitha Anand's character scolding him. She fed him cues by changing her tone mid-sentence. He matched every shift without rehearsal. The director kept the first take.
• During Kusthi (2006), Sabitha Anand cooked biryani for the entire crew every Friday. Vadivelu would sit with her and peel onions while they discussed the next day's scenes. No one else was allowed near the kitchen.
• Sabitha Anand once said in a 2007 interview: 'Vadivelu doesn't just make you laugh. He makes you want to be funnier yourself. On set, I became a better performer because he never let me settle.'
• The comic track between Vadivelu and Sabitha Anand in Chatrapathy (2004) was so popular that a separate VCD of just their scenes was sold in Tirunelveli markets. That bootleg inspired local stage troupes to create a live skit based on their banter.
