Trivia
- The film's director Raj Kapoor is not the famous Bollywood actor, but a different filmmaker who also directed the 2005 Tamil film 'London'.
- This was one of the few films where veteran actor Prabhu played a character named Jeeva, a name later famously used by his son, actor Jayam Ravi, in several of his own movies.
- The movie features a cameo by comedian Vadivelu in a comedy track separate from the main plot, which was a common promotional tactic for films at that time.
- Despite being an action film titled 'Kusthi' (wrestling), the story does not heavily revolve around the sport, focusing more on family drama and adventure.
- The soundtrack was composed by Srikanth Deva, continuing his collaboration with director Raj Kapoor after their work on the film 'London' the previous year.
- Actress Radhika, who plays a key role, was a prominent figure in 1980s Tamil cinema but appeared in fewer films during the 2000s, making this a notable later-career role.
- The film's release faced competition from several other Tamil films in late 2006, which impacted its theatrical run and box office performance.
