• Kamal Haasan cast both of them in Virumaandi (2004) after seeing their work separately — but he deliberately paired them as opposing lawyers because he wanted two actors who could match each other's intensity without one overpowering the other.
• In Mumbai Express (2005), Pasupathy played a bumbling sidekick to Nassar's strict police officer. The comedy came from Nassar setting a rigid rhythm and Pasupathy deliberately breaking it with offbeat pauses — a trick they rehearsed together on set.
