• Nagesh was already a comedy superstar when he agreed to play the male lead in Komatha En Kulamatha (1973). But the real spark? He personally requested Prameela for the role after seeing her in a small Telugu film. The director was hesitant — she was relatively unknown in Tamil — but Nagesh insisted.
• In Sondham (1973), Nagesh deliberately slowed down his usual rapid-fire comic timing to match Prameela's more natural, understated style. He told the crew: 'Let her lead the scene. I'll follow.' That film became a sleeper hit because of their rhythm — he set the pace, she set the tone.
• Paruva Kaalam (1974) was the first Tamil film to cast a major comedian (Nagesh) in a purely romantic lead opposite a newcomer (Prameela) without any comedy track. That gamble directly inspired director K. Balachander to later pair comedians in serious roles — a trend that launched a dozen films in the late 70s.
• During the shoot of Komatha En Kulamatha, Prameela's mother fell seriously ill. Nagesh quietly paid for her hospital bills and never told anyone. Prameela found out only years later from a production assistant. She still calls him 'my silent guardian' in interviews.
• Prameela once said in a 1980s magazine interview: 'Nagesh made me feel like I was the star. He would rehearse with me for hours before every shot, even when he had his own scenes to prepare. I never had to act — I just reacted to him.'
