• For Jeevanamsam (1968), director M. A. Thirumugam cast Sivakumar as the lead but paired him with Jaishankar only after the original choice for the second hero dropped out at the last minute. Jaishankar stepped in with just three days' notice.
• In Sondham (1973), Sivakumar played the emotional, soft-hearted brother while Jaishankar played the rigid, angry one. They deliberately swapped their usual screen personas — Sivakumar usually played the angry young man, Jaishankar the romantic lead — to surprise audiences.
• During the shoot of Enga Pattan Sothu (1975), Sivakumar and Jaishankar shared a room in a small lodge in Tenkasi. They would rehearse their scenes together every night until 2 AM, often rewriting dialogues on hotel napkins.
