• They first worked together in Teri Meherbaniyan (1985), but the film that actually made them a sought-after pair was Karma (1986). Subhash Ghai cast them as the romantic subplot opposite Dilip Kumar and Nutan — and their song 'Ae Mere Humsafar' became a bigger chartbuster than the main leads' track.
• In Palay Khan (1986), Jackie played a Pathan tribesman and Poonam played a British woman. She later said in an interview that Jackie would deliberately speak his dialogues in a slower, more broken Hindi on set to make her laugh — and the director kept those takes because it made her reactions look more 'nervous and authentic'.
• Poonam Dhillon once revealed that during the shoot of Mard Ki Zabaan (1987), Jackie would bring her homemade thepla (Gujarati flatbread) from his mother's kitchen every single day. She said it was the only thing that got her through the exhausting outdoor schedule in Rajasthan.
