• Nassar personally recommended Karthik Kumar to director Radha Mohan for 'Poi Solla Porom' (2008). He had seen Karthik's stage work and told the director: 'This guy can hold his own against me.' That film became their most acclaimed collaboration.
• In 'Vaanam Vasappadum' (2004), Nassar played the stern father to Karthik's son. But on set, Nassar deliberately broke character between takes to joke with Karthik — he said it helped Karthik relax into the emotional scenes. Karthik later admitted that Nassar's off-camera warmth made him cry on cue in the climax.
