• Nassar personally recommended Singampuli to director M. Manikandan for Aandavan Kattalai (2016). Manikandan had written the role of a small-time conman and needed someone with raw, lived-in energy. Nassar told him, 'This guy will steal the film.' He was right.
• In Aandavan Kattalai, Nassar and Singampuli never share a single scene where they're both relaxed. Nassar plays the anxious, upright father; Singampuli plays the slippery fixer. Their tension isn't acted — it's built into how they pace each other. Nassar rushes his lines, Singampuli drags his. That push-pull makes every conversation feel like a trap about to snap shut.
• The success of Aandavan Kattalai directly led to Singampuli getting cast in a string of character roles in mainstream Tamil cinema — including a key part in Super Deluxe (2019). Without Nassar vouching for him in that 2016 film, that whole second act of Singampuli's career might not have happened.
• Nassar and Singampuli have known each other since the early 2000s, long before they acted together. Singampuli used to assist on Nassar's theatre productions. When they finally shared screen space in Sankarankovil (2011), Singampuli later said it felt like 'acting in front of my own guru.'
