• On the sets of Senthamarai (1962), Rahini would rehearse her lines alone in a corner. Sivaji noticed and started running scenes with her before the director called action. She later said he 'taught her how to breathe in a close-up.'
• During Naan Vanangum Dheivam (1963), Rahini was pregnant and often exhausted. Sivaji made sure her call times were later in the day and had coffee sent to her vanity van every morning. No one else on set knew why.
• Rahini once told a magazine: 'Sivaji sir never treated me like a newcomer. He treated me like a co-star. That is rare in this industry.'
• Sivaji Ganesan personally requested Rahini for Punar Jenmam (1961) after seeing her in a stage play. He told the director she had the 'sad eyes' the role needed.
• Their pairing in Punar Jenmam (1961) was so well-received that it directly led to Senthamarai (1962) being greenlit. The producer saw the rushes and ordered a second film before the first even released.
